Traffic cameras are not about the money, are they?

of course not.

Currently, fines vary from place to place but typically are $50 on first offense. That proposed legislation would also put a two-year moratorium on new cameras.

Now, along comes Johnson City with plans to have its first camera operational by the end of the month. That town's fine: $100.

I paid $112, if memory serves.

The whole idea is disgusting. Highway robbery, indeed.
